• It does have a "magnetic pull" when you shut it, It does not open when you are carrying it. It does take a little effort to lift the cover. Now if you dropped it at the right angle, it might would open up.

• the case has a very strong magnet. I have been traveling all month and it does not come open. Very secure.

• There are magnets to keep closed, however they are not super strong in that you can re-open without too much effort when you want to use again.
