• The speakers come with the necessary cords. One male from speaker to computer and another male from same speaker that connects to second speaker.

• I connected these speakers to a tv. In that set up I need a female to male cable. But the speakers come with 2-3 feet of a male 3.5mm attached to one of the speakers

• You can plug any 3.5mm male cord into the front and you will have sound. So for example you have a DVD player and you want speakers for it. Use an RCA male to 3.5mm male cable. Plug the red and white RCA cables into the DVD player and the male 3.5mm end into the front of the speakers, Voilà sound.
