I have a manfrotto tripod and it holds it well. Haven’t had an issue since. It can’t get heavy with it on though

Yes! They adjust for your tripod and can tighten it to secure it in place. It also has a hidden flap at the bottom to cup the legs to prevent it from falling out.

depending on the size. small tripod yes but anything over 7-10 its gets too heavy

maybe not a full size tripod but a smaller one that is about the length of the camera bag would be fine. The bag has a little pull out flap on the bottom that hold the tripod legs and supports the weight of the tripod if you were to attache it on the front of the bag.

Yes. The cords do not support all the weight of the tripod. The weight is supported by a pocket on the bottom of the pack. The pocket extends down below the backpack leaving plenty of room for even the largest collapsible tripod.
