Can the power on / off sound be disabled? It's pretty loud. I know... it's a Marshall, and they are all about loud... but this is a bookshelf speaker, not a half stack :) null

It turns out the power on / off sound can be disabled by using the Marshall app. The app could use some work, but I was able to connect and change that setting. It worked for me by first connecting via Bluetooth in 'settings' on my device, then pressing 'connect' within the app. Careful: it just took off and ran a firmware update without asking first when it first connected!

As of 2025: There are no "three dots" besides the speaker name :-/

Yes, in the Marshall Bluetooth app, select the 3 dots to the right of the speaker name, select sounds and toggle off the on/off option. This will turn off the audio notification of powering on/off the speaker.

Not to my knowledge. I also have A JVC speaker and it is about the same loudness in its off alert sound.
