“Is the handle made of plastic? How long will it the handle last? I have Amana , the handle broke so I cant open the dishwasher. All my dishes and pots are inside and I am locked out. Maytag wants $ 89,00 to open it.”

The handle broke on our old Maytag as well. We had to use some gorilla action to get it open. What I like about this dishwasher is that it doesn’t have a latching handle. So there isn’t one to break.
