I had a power cord included in the dishwasher that could be installed. But older houses have wiring that goes directly to the dishwasher, and the power cord that plugs into the wall is not used. It is very simple wiring if that is the case. The installer can easily handle it either way if you are replacing an old dishwasher.

I did not purchase anything other than the install kit so I assume it came with it. We had BestBuy install ours.
