Water entering the dishwasher has an average temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit, which may or may not properly sanitize the dishes. The heating element, however, warms the water up by an additional 10-15 degrees; thus, effectively killing harmful bacteria and germs. In addition to killing bacteria, the dishwasher’s heating element serves a second purpose: to encourage faster and more efficient drying times.

A:AnswerThe sound level wasn’t why I bought this dishwasher, because I usually run it at night. The drying rating was higher than a few others, because nothing is worse than having to hand dry after cycle. The added perk of this product is that it is so quiet we tend to run at any time. So yes that would contribute to my rating at least.
