I am trying to understand the question. The office software is based on a 1 year subcription. You of course can buy the software itself for full price but you will not get the updates and upgrades that you would with the one year subscription. In my mind you come out cheaper over time since you will not readily get upgrades continually over the years. I had the Mac software for 2011 for years and used it for years ... likely 7 or more until my laptop crashed. I was missing of course the new templates and features that came over the years. It is a sign of the time that Microsoft has moved to the subscription based software.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are two versions of Microsoft Office - a 365 subscription service that costs $99.00 a year, and may be installed on UP TO five devices - desktops, laptops. tablets or phones - and a one time purchase version of the software that is much more expensive than $99.00, but can be used only on one computer. The Office 365 version will be constantly updated throughout the one year period of subscription for any improvements to the software, such as new or improved features or any bug fixes that may be offered. The regular version is downloaded to the hard drive of only one computer, but remains on the computer as long as the hard drive is operating, but there are no updates or bug fixes available until one purchases the next scheduled full version of Microsoft Office.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe you have two general options: Office and Office365. The former is stuck at whatever version you purchase, while the other will upgrade during the life of the subscription if Microsoft releases new versions. If you purchase Office and an upgrade becomes available, you'll need to purchase again to get the upgraded versions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does. It only lasts a year and you cannot use it or your files unless you activate it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it used to come already installed on old computers.
