Yes, you both should be able to use the same subscription, but it may only be in one login as opposed to two of them (in other words, you both need the same login no matter what device you use).

You absolutely could choose Office 365 Personal for you and your partner. You two will need to share one Microsoft account to access your subscription if you choose this route.

No, not really. Microsoft does this thing now which ties your subscription to your phone. This is how it works…. First you type in your password, then Bill Gates sends a passcode to your phone, which you need to type in inorder to access your files.

My wife is going back to school for her master's, so we got Office for free, but it was so frustrating that after a month I broke down and bought Office for myself!

You can use a one person subscription as long as it is on the same computer.
