Product keys must be redeemed within 5 years from the time that they are purchased from Microsoft. So if you purchased it from a 3rd party seller the clock would start at the time that they purchased it from Microsoft. Best Buy is a retailer not a 3rd party seller so purchasing from them would give you 5 years to activate it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Since you have not downloaded or activated the card, it should be fine. I bought two. One for now and one for a later usage. The only thing that can change is IF A NEWER version comes out before you use your card.
