The batteries can be rechargeable or not, but there is no way to recharge rechargeable batteries through the mouse. It takes two AAA batteries, and, with normal use, they last about six months.

Please try again later.This is the only device I’ve ever used where both batteries have to face the same direction- maybe check and make sure that the positive ends of both batteries are pointing to the left as you are looking at the open battery compartment. If you already inserted them correctly, I have no idea what the problem could be. There is no charger to my knowledge.
