“I purchased the Microsoft ergonomic mouse and was told that the 2 buttons on the side were programmable for cut-and-paste. My previous mouse was a series 4000 and all I had to do was plug it in and it was ready to cut and paste. There are no instruction”

You’ll need to use a PC running Windows 10 and then download their keyboard and mouse app that allows you to select what actions/functions for each button.
