The issue is not retrieving the files it might be opening them I don't know if the two versions are compatible I know newer files do not open with older versions

Although I would check the bestbuy deals - it may be more advantageous if you buy office with the laptop from bestbuy for a discount if I recall
A:AnswerEven though I don't use Mac OS, my prior version wasn't deleted unless I did so during installation. But, as I understand it, if you load an older version file of Excell or Word, when you save it, it will save the file in the new version unless you tell it to save in the old format.
