• I dunno about a Mac book but I can confirm it does work with us mouse receivers as that's exactly what I'm using it for

• That I do not know about the USB Port on your mouse or about your Mac book Pro. What you can do like I did is type in USB Port for your Mac and it will give you the one you need. I like the one I have.

• I don't know if it works with a MacBook pro but I have used it with a USB mouse receiver and a network adapter with a Microsoft Surface Go and have no issues at all.
