Yes, look on the side bottom your surface, if have a long line space and a couple gold metal for attach in between surface and keyboard than it's work.

Yes works perfectly, I'm typing this with Type Cover 2 on my current Surface RT I purchased last year.

The tech people should know this. Type cover for the Surface Pro explicitly says that it is only good for that model. The type cover I bought said for "surface", and I have an older surface RT and it works well.
