• No it's Bluetooth that's why I got it I didn't want to use up my one usb port.

• It´s only Bluetooth connection. It will work with your MacBook Air because it works without any issues with mine 2011 MacBook Air.

• No, this is a wireless bluetooth mouse. Does not require usb cable or separate nano receiver so long as your computer also has at least bluetooth 4.0 installed.
