No. You first purchase the digital card, then add the digital code to your Xbox account. You then use that money you added to your Xbox account to purchase in-game currency, from the online Xbox store. You can purchase the in-game currency through your Xbox console or through the Xbox website. I use these Xbox gift cards all of the time, to purchase Tera and Fallout 76 in-game currency.
