Why in the DVD version did they cut the Doolittle raid from the film versus the theatrical version? null

Mine had it. Interesting decision though whether to include this in the story of Midway. There is a convincing argument that the Doolittle raid is what compelled the Japanese to move forward with the very complex Midway operation, however, so I think its appropriate to include it in the run up to the main story.

It was in my 4K version. I did not get the DVD in my set.

My blue ray copy included ramp up to the raid and sequence dealing with the downed pilots in China.

The Doolittle raids were on my Blueray version which is not the theatrical version.

The movie wasn't about Doolittle. The raid on Tokyo was just part of the sequence leading up to the battle of Midway

The Doolittle raid had enormous significance for America. However the Battle for Midway, crippled the Japanese carrier fleet costing them four of their first line carriers and their experienced aircrews.
