Assembly is required. No tools are needed because they supply you with a screw driver.

It requires assembly for first use, but it’s fairly simple and even comes with the screwdriver you’ll need to complete it. It took maybe 30 minutes, but probably less for me to do it on my own. After it’s put together, it’s as simple as fold up/down to use.
