i went through 2 cards from BB like this. I "think" they have a stash of cards before minecraft was reaquired by another company. Call customer service, return the card and get a refund. Then just go online to the website the card was trying to send you to, and just by it direct. Found that to be the quickest solution. Best Buy needs to stop selling this item

Please try again later.Return it to the store, the item is not activated, this happened to me twice and I ended up going to the store and just exchanging it for the Java and bedrock edition, then it finally worked. The it issue is those Java editions are getting shipped out not activated.
