I set it up according to the directions, and it's been charging for days. I took it off the charger and it won't work. The charging light is blue at the bottom, but there is no light coming from the top. I've made sure I rotated it till it fell into place null

Mine had the light around the top while it’s charging. Could it be you have it in charger upside down?

Eventually rechargeable batteries no longer take a charge. Tried to remove cover to see it I can access and replace batteries, but cannot get cover off. New opener is not much more expensive than replacement batteries. I am going to look at openers powered by standard batteries instead
