Hello MommyCentric! I just wanted to give you some clarification on the difference between the juice pack plus and juice pack air for the iPhone 6. The juice pack air will give your phone up to 100% extra battery and provide normal protection for your phone. Whereas the juice pack plus has a low-profile design that provides more than 120% extra battery allowing you to power through just about any situation, while the hard exterior shell—along with our proprietary impact-isolation system—protects your phone from heavy impacts and hard falls. The more expensive version of this case offers more battery life than the cheaper version. I bought the exspensice one and it would keep my phone charged at 100% from heading to work at 6am to 2am returning from work. I also use it 100% of the time using GPS on my phone. ( I drive for a living ) That is 20 hours of battery life + a full charged iPhone after removing the case upon my arrival home.

As far as I can tell, the difference is only the battery charge, but I think you knew that.

It does not offer "more" protection. It just offers more charging power (3300 mAH for Plus and 2600 mAH for non-Plus). In addition, the "Plus" case is slightly lighter and thinner than then non-plus case for some strange reason.

There is no doubt that this case offers protection. I have seen many users drop their iPhones with this case on cement floors and absolutely no damage occurred to the phone.
The difference between the $99 and the $119 is the amount of charge it can supply to your phone. The $99 will charge your battery completely from totally dead and the $119 will charge it completely and still be able to charge it to another 20% if still need more.

For the extra $ you get more charging power and time. For me it was worth it. And yes works as a case to protect your phone. Not like an Otter but works for me.
