Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have to assume you are talking about the extra bar that comes with the package. It is for support. Install it underneath the graphic card. The graphic card is very heavy. I highly recommend installing this item if you have a tower configuration.

If you are referring to the extra PCIE slot attachment it is a support bracket to prevent the card from sagging and damaging your motherboard's PCIE slot.

I don’t know why, I wish I had another display port instead of the USB C Jack! At this point I have found no reason to use the USB seaport on this graphic card. That’s all it is though.
