“can the legs be adjusted to take up less room? (I need to sit on an old desktop case that is 17.5 inches across) If i love the monitor, i can wait until past the return period and then take a hacksaw to trim the legs as needed.) thanks.”

Hello Walt - the legs are not adjustable on this monitor. To reduce the amount of space on the desk, you could also use a monitor arm.
