Yes and No. You're at the reliability of the local cell signal which can go out for any number of reasons and has the risk of signal interference. If you're just casually playing games with friends, then it can work. I use this to watch Hulu, browse the internet, and check emails when I'm away for work as the hotels rarely have a decent, stable connection. While I do game too from time-to-time when traveling for work, I don't play multiplayer games, only co-op. I'll play multiplayer games at home.
