They interlock on all 4 sides. Of course our room was not the exact dimensions, so we cut them so they would go wall to wall.

Connecting these pieces are like a puzzle, so keep in mind that you do not need to cut anything. Unless you personally want to cut to your conveniences, which is pretty easy too.
