No, the screen does not totally flip. It does move up and down so that you can see what you are taking a picture of if you were to hold it above your head.

However, the COOLPIX B500 can connect to a compatible Apple or Android smart device via the SnapBridge app. The SnapBridge app has a remote photography feature that displays the live view on your smart device, allowing you to point your camera at yourself and, once you’re satisfied with the placement, remotely release the shutter. If you’re happy with the selfie you’ve taken, you can then download the picture directly to your smart device’s camera roll through SnapBridge, allowing for easy uploading to social media platforms.
