Yes, it is dx format (crop sensor). I've had a d40, d50, d90, d7000, and now the d500, still using the same lenses plus a few new ones of course.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yup - D60 has a DX sensor so any lenses you bought specifically for it will work on the D500 (also a DX sensor). Actually - any Nikon F-mount lens will work on any body... The DX / FX thing just affects how much cropping will happen with the lens. Since you're going from an older DX camera to a newer DX camera - there should be no surprises. I was going to get an FX sensor Nikon but I have a small fortune invested in DX lenses - and the cropping value was just too weird for me to deal with so that's why I got the D500. I'll invest in an FX (full frame sensor) camera when I have the cash to invest in new glass (lenses) as well. Enjoy the D500 - had mine for a few months now and quite happy with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are both DX format sensor cameras. The lenses should work without a problem.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Nikon D500 DSLR camera is fully compatible with AI, AF, AF-S and new E-type lenses. As long as you are using one of these types of lenses there will be no problem with compatibility.
