The lenses are compatible. I have Nikon lenses that were my fathers from the 80s also and they work just fine. Nikon hasn't changed their mount so a lot of lenses will work. Obviously the lenses from that time didn't have autofocus so you are stuck using manual focus and also using manual mode but they do work
