Yes it is a great camera. No matter what DSLR you begin with it takes time to learn how to use it so you might as well learn on a camera that gives you great photos. Even if you use it on Auto it will give you good photos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My answer is maybe. The D7200 has many features that may take considerable time to learn and master, but at the same time it can be fully automatic. (With all the limitations) Nikon's website lists the D7200 as an enthusiasts' camera and not a beginner camera. The body alone usually hovers around a $1000. If you are short on cash, a D3400 kit and a zoom lens might be a better investment for a beginner who is not sure if they will like photography. If money is not a object the D7200 is the DX camera to get, unless you want to pay $2000 for the D500 :-)
