• Short answer: My understanding is that if it has the “S” it should work. Long answer: If the lens is just AF (without the -S) then it might not work. If I recall correctly the AF ones have a literal screw socket along the edge of the lens which the camera has to have the “screwdriver” part to do the auto focusing. But the AF-S ones will work fine with the D7500.
