They are different generations of the same batteries, with the latest being ...15c. My husband wanted the 15c type for our last trip, which takes lesser time to fully charge and can take more photos before the battery runs out. This battery is made specifically for certain Nikon camera models only so be sure to check compatibility before purchase.
