Yes. This adapter has no AF motor, so it can not drive the mechanically coupled focusing mechanisms in older lenses which don't have their own motor.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The FTZ is just the way to connect the f lenses to you new z camera the auto focus will work if the lens has this capacity the old manual lens will not have autofocus. The adapter or the cameras (z) doesn’t have the mechanic to do autofocus

Please try again later.I have three AF-S lenses and two Tokina lenses that are F mounts, and they all work exactly as they did on my D3200 body; that is, the auto-focus works if it did on the D3200, the one Tokina that did not auto-focus still does not. I think they don't Need to be motorized, but you may have to resort to manual focus on some of them.
