“Can you combine both trays to use as one single large tray?”

Can't combine, but dual baskets with ability to set different cooking instructions is much more versatile. Can cook in both baskets with same or different cooking instructions. I like this much better than the units with one cooking area.

No. The trays do not have a way to make one large single tray.

The two baskets are totally separate and in separate sections of the unit. Think of it like two separate rooms with a wall in the middle. So no, you would not be able to combine the two
