Yes, go to account settings and turn off the auto renewal, then when it expires find where to purchase it for a more reasonable price, then install your new copy and repeat the auto renew turn off.

I installed the new 360 and logged in right away and turned off auto renewal. They will send an offer near the end of the subscription that is probably a lot cheaper or the same as it sells new for at Best Buy.

If it hasn't renewed yet, log in and shut off auto. Then buy a new one.

Yes, you can. This is what I do. I can normally find it on sale somewhere before my subscription expires and install myself.

If I remember correctly, there is an option to cancel the auto renewal. Then you can purchase more protection elsewhere, and add it to your remaining subscription, or as you mention, re-install it.
