“Would it make sense to purchase this product & the gamer version? How would that work? I'm looking for the best of both but really just get 1 product”

You can't go wrong with either product, however if you are a GAMER you may want to consider the GAMER version to maximize performance as our GAMER product includes the feature Game Optimizer. Most computers have multiple CPU cores.
