Is there any reason to go for this over a 6800? This has half the memory of a 6800, and even though its gddr6x I'm not sure it makes up for having half the vram. I am aware that this card has better rt cores. Other than that though? null

You don’t really need that much VRAM for gaming. Unless you’re 4k gaming 8gb will be fine. Honestly just get what ever you can and be happy with it. Hope this helps!

Nvidia cards have a good hardware encoder for recording and streaming, DLSS, and more reliable drivers.
