Its a hybrid cooler so there are water-based cooling inside of it, It does not need to be connected to a water cooling system. It is a cooler that has a built-in water like chemical that runs it back and forth through the radiator and CPU through two lines(flexible pipes) all built into the cooler itself and cant be removed. Then the Fans attached to the radiator cool the chemical. It is very good but confusing to set up, making it harder since the support page is no help on the website, i recommend Youtube for this
