- Answer The recorder does not require software. Once connected the recorder will show as a removable storage device. You can drag and drop the files needed onto your computer.

QuestionDoes this recorder have a repeat function & divide/delete functions?Can it replay a specific section of the recording over and over again, so you can make notes from a lecture or use for learning languages. Does it have divide and delete editing functions.

- Answer Yes, yes and yes. The WS-700M has a Segment Repeat function that will allow you to repeat a portion of a recording as you described. The WS-700M can record files in your choice of three formats: PCM (.wav), MP3 or WMA. The FIle Divide function is available when using either the PCM or MP3 format, but it is not available when using the WMA format. Using the Erase function, you can delete a single file or all of the files in a particular folder. Using the Format function, you can delete all files on the device.

- Answer The distance is not as important as the volume of the subjects voice. The recorder is intended for conference and dictation recording.

- Answer MP3 and PCM files can be divided on this recorder. The recorder will split the recording into two files at a determined point.

QuestionIf I record a church service including songs, can I go back and add in comments and edit the recording?I want to record about 45 minutes of our one hour church service. It includes music as well as voice. After the service has finished, can I edit in additional comments or delete unwanted sections of the recording after it has been made?

- Answer Again I suggest using the LS-100. There are some function in unit for basic editing, although what you are speaking of may be best handle but software in the computer.

QuestionCan I connect this unit to a sound mixing board in a church to record music?I read that when you connect some digital voice recorders to a sound board, a humming noise is present. Therefore, they recommend that those units not be connected to a sound board. I need a recorder that can be connected to a board and one that records both voice and music in excellent quality.

- Answer Connecting a DVR to a board can damage the unit because of the excess voltage. So, I suggest considering the LS-100, when available. This recorder will offer many features you will find useful for this situation.

- Answer Press and hold the MENU button for 2 seconds to enter the menu. Select the option for RECMODE. This is the menu setting for the different formats. If you are unable to change these values, you may have activated a conflicting setting.
