Questionbest Olympus recorder for interviews?I'm a journalist and I often record interviews in the field or over the phone. What is the best Olympus recorder for my purposes? Features I'm looking for: reliability, durability, can be recharged from my laptop but also accepts batteries, good voice quality, easy-to-hear playback for transcribing, easy to repeatedly reverse/play for transcribing, works with a Mac computer, files can be transferred to computer for archiving, ability to store at least 2 hours of recording on the recorder, jack for external mic, idiot-proof features (e.g. a light that shows when recording is happening, and buttons that aren't easy to press accidentally and turn off the recording without realizing it). Voice activation is not important to me (I've found this can actually be a liability in the field). And I don't need to make recordings that are of broadcast or podcast quality, although that would be a nice bonus.

- Answer I suggest the LS series line of recorders. The LS-7,LS-11 or LS-100 would be excellent. The LS-7 would be a great compact option. The LS-100 would be larger but allows for the used of high grade XLR mics.

Questiondoes features being able to automatically transform what you record to word format

- Answer Olympus does not have this functionality. This is a Dragon Certified recorder. We recommend Dragon Naturally Speaking for voice to text functionality.

QuestionWhere do I get a carrying case for this model?The Olympus website says this model comes with a carrying case, and I've also received a carrying case with less advanced models. Is there any plan to make them available to consumers for this model?
