“I found out the answer thru ottllite website-LED bulb system is not replaceable, so you would have to throw out the lamp when bulb is dead.not a fan of “throw away society” purchasing & it appears all LED lamps are the same, so I will not purchase LED.”

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes LED (Light Emitting Diodes) are built into the head of a lamp, however typically if an LED lamp stops working it would just be simply a replacement adapter (cord) issue, as the adapter is the driver that drives the LEDs to illuminate. Ottlite does not recommend plugging LED lamps/fixtures into extension cords or power strips unless they are rated heavy gauge, or the Ottlite lamp is the only item plugged into those apparatuses as that could compromise the adapter.
