Hello! You can insert batteries in the base unit in order to use temporarily in a power outage. -M
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it will not, no battery in the landline handset main unit and it's supply requires 120v, it is not landline phone using 6v? power from the phone jack. But even if it did, odds are you're using a Xfinity, FiOS or CallCentric type VOIP requiring power to modem/router and not copper line Verizon. FIOS VOIP will last about 15 minutes talk, 6hr standby maybe... (They lie) . So if you lose power at night, by morning Fios may be dead. If you still have copper basic Verizon then look for basic princess style phone with NO DISPLAY or power supply.
