Can you hear the answering machine greeting from the base? My older Panasonic cordless phone played the greeting out loud. I just bought a Panasonic KX-TGD862G but the greeting isn't played on the base. null

Hello! With our models you cannot hear the greeting while someone is leaving a message, you can only hear their message while they are leaving it(it is the feature ''call screening''). Both models have it. -A

I have 2 Panasonic cordless phones. I only have one answer machine turned on, the KX-TG6641. It stopped the other day giving a giving a greeting, and the KX-TGE474 also stopped giving a greeting at the same time. I reset to original base greeting on both and they still won't play a greeting. I get dead air and try to leave a message, but nothing records. Not sure if I timed the recorder right when I left a message. I bought a new AT&T Cordless phone with an answering machine. It too will not play the greeting. I made my own message and played it back and it was ok, but when I call that phone from mt cell phone, it picks up after 4 rings, but does not play a greeting. What is going on? I've recorded my greeting and several times and also reset to the built in greeting and still cant get any phone to play a greeting.
