Hi, Patty! Thank you for reaching out to us. There could be multiple reasons for the issue you are experiencing. Please ensure that the telephone line cord has been connected properly and securely. When plugging the cord into the back of the phone, please ensure that you hear a click. We also suggest trying a different telephone line jack within your home to determine if the issue is with the phone or the jack. If the phone works on a different jack, then the problem is with the original jack. If the telephone does not work on either telephone jack you need to determine if it is a problem with the telephone or the telephone line. Also, if you have a different telephone, plug that telephone into the telephone line jack and see if you can hear a dial tone. If there is no dial tone you are having a telephone line problem, please contact your telephone line service provider.
