- Answer This depends upon your service provider. If you have a land line, it will work when the power is out. If your phone is not a land line (i.e. Comcast/Xfinity) it will not work unless you have a modem to which you've added an internal battery backup per your provider's instructions. I see Comcast/Xfinity actually states in their ads that there is no phone service if there is a power outage. Short answer - check with your service provider.

- Answer I have used this handset in the backyard, approximately 75 feet. No problems. Outside of that, all bets are off.

QuestionIs the call volume option loud enough? I have a Panasonic phone that is about 2 yrs old and even when set to the highest call volume, it isn't loud enough. I always have difficulty hearing the person on the other line. I have a loud house....

- Answer Yes, it includes the area code. If you chose to redial using a caller ID, you may have to add the 1 in front of the number.
