The KX-TGF882B phone model was initially released in 2020. The keypad of the handsets is backlit with by an amber color. This phone system is only available on one color at the moment, which would be black. We hope this information will be useful! - S

QuestionI want to be able to lay the base flat on my nightstand with phone charging inside of it laying down also. Would it have to be standing up or could the phone be lying flat in it. Used to old style Panasonic so want something as similar as I can find!

- Answer Hello! Our current phone systems are designed to be placed vertically on a flat surface such as a nightstand, a table or a countertop. We do not recommend laying the base unit or the charger down as it may affect the charging of the handsets if the charging ports are not aligned properly. We hope this information will be useful! - S

- Answer Hello Carol! You can transfer calls manually to your cell phone, during the call if the cell phone is connected via Bluetooth. You can connect 2 cell phone to the base unit, one to the Cell 1 slot and the other to the Cell 2 slot. You can also connect a Bluetooth headset to the phone system, if it supports HeadSet Profile (HSP) specification. Hope this helps! - S

QuestionAre you able to hear the caller’s message as they’re leaving their message on the answering machine? As in screening? I need to be able to call home and alert parent by use of answering machine by leaving a message in real time.

- Answer Hello Nic! The KX-TGF882B phone system has the call screening option available. The default setting is On, so if you leave a message it will be played out loud in real time. Hope this helps! - S

Please note that if you encounter issues with the sound or related to Caller ID services when using VoIP, the phone may require a DSL/ADSL filter to be installed on the line by your telephone service provider. The system can be used to select choices on automated systems if the DTMF tones are set up properly by your telephone service provider. - S
