Hello Susie, I bought this voice recorder in November last year (2018) for dissertation interviews the following month in December. Regarding your question, it is easy to transfer voice recording to your computer. However, you will need a transcribing software to change the transferred audio on your computer into a text. The Philips audio recorder itself does not change audio recording into text. I hope my answer is helpful to you. Good luck.
