I've had a case liked this before. I never used a screen protector didn't have any problems. My wife has this particular case but she's very conservative (and a little clumsy apparently) because her screen protector got scratched, so I guess it depends on you.

I use the new liquid glass protection because there is no edge that my fingers get caught on when swiping.

yes, I have dropped it frequently and when the "flap" is open, the screen is exposed. The screen protector takes the hit and has saved my phone!

Yes, I would still get a glass protector. As there is nothing covering the screen besides the flap.
