I would advise getting one for drops and scratches from pocket items such as keys and change in the event you place phone in pocket while case is open.

In order to protect the face of your phone, you need to purchase a screen protector. There isn't any built into the cover.

I didn't get a screen protector. Why? The whole point to the cover is to protect the complete phone.

Since it closes like a wallet and your phone is protected that way, that might be a personal preference for added insurance. I have accidentally dropped my phone while it was in the case and had no breakage.

Probably not needed but I use the ZAGG glass curve with mine

I don't know if it needs one but I use the Zagg glass curve invisible shield. The shield cost me about $40.00 and fits perfectly
