• i contacted Dell for the exact type of memory for my Alienware M17XR4 and then saved money buying the memory at Best Buy

• most Alienware are supported for up to 16 GB of ram on their laptops, and up to 32-64 in their desktops. you should be fine.

• Yes, but unless you still have an active Geek Squad Tech Support card (program discontinued), they will charge you to install it. You could easily do it yourself.
